  Peter Kelly FRICS
Board Member
When Peter moved to Cardiff, he developed the general practice and the agency sides of DTZ's business. He was instrumental in the concept and implementation of the Charles Darwin Shopping Centre in Shrewsbury and subsequently advised Preselli District Council on the town centre redevelopment at Haverfordwest. He was retained by Llanelli Borough Council for assistance on its town centre strategy.

In Merthyr Tydfil, Peter has advised the Welsh Development Agency on the disposal of a key town centre site, again for a new shopping scheme, recently opened.

Urban regeneration experience has been gained primarily in South Cardiff, firstly acting on behalf of Tarmac in 1984 on the 66 acre Atlantic Wharf, mixed use scheme. For many years Peter advised Grosvenor Waterside, ABP's property arm in respect of the Capital Waterside scheme in Cardiff Bay. He was involved in negotiating the terms of both the WHCSA and NCM pre-lets and more recently in securing the Welsh Assembly for the Waterfront and acting for Wales Millennium Centre in property matters..

Out of town, he advised on a 120 acre mixed use development in Malvern anchored by a 55,000 sq. ft. food store.

In the field of PFI, Peter has advised University of Wales Swansea on two student housing projects that have been successfully implemented, for a health authority, in procuring a neighbourhood hospital through the sale of surplus land and for a local authority, its new civic offices.

On investment business, he personally handled the sale of the residue of the BP Property portfolio in South Wales realising nearly £30m.

Peter was appointed by the Secretary of State for Wales and was amongst the first independent Governors of the University of Glamorgan. He is a member of the Investment Sub-Committee of the Representative Body of the Church in Wales and was a member of the project board responsible for the building of the Assembly Building for the Welsh Assembly Government.
