Peter Thomas CBE
Peter is a very well known and respected businessman throughout Wales and the UK. With his father, brother and sister he built a national savoury foods business, Peter's Savoury Products which, in 1988 was sold to Grand Metropolitan plc for in excess of £95m. Atlantic Property Developments plc was created following the disposal of PSP and Peter has since built the company into one of the leading property development companies in Wales.
Peter's entrepreneurial skills are further highlighted by his involvement in Festival Parks Europe Ltd, the company responsible for several major integrated leisure and retail developments including Scandinavia and Mallorca. The award winning Festival Parks Mallorca attracts in excess of 3.5m visitors each year since it opened its doors in 2002.
Out of the office, Peter's passion is rugby. He is Chairman and benefactor of the Cardiff Blues and is passionate about helping to deliver European success to the supporters of the club. Peter and his wife, Babs, are major benefactors of the performing arts in Wales.
Peter was appointed CBE in June 2012 for services to business, sport and charitable work in Wales.
Craig joined Atlantic in 2001, from a background in residential refurbishment and trading in new apartment developments in and around South Wales. Since joining Atlantic, Craig has project managed residential developments in Cardiff and Burry Port and currently overseas the marketing and sales of the prestigious first phase of houses and apartments at the Llandarcy Urban Village Scheme on the outskirts of Neath.
Craig now oversees the final stages of the Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Village, a development boasting top quality operators including VUE Cinemas, Travelodge and McDonalds. The scheme is 85% complete with only a small number of areas available for development.
Craig heads up the investment portfolio for Atlantic. His management duties include the Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Village, Atlantic's residential portfolio throughout south Wales, hotels in Birmingham and Swansea and is actively seeking additional retail investment opportunities.
Zoë joined Atlantic in May 2011 to oversee the accounting and financial management of the Atlantic group of companies. She most recently worked for the NHS but had progressed her career working for Arriva Trains, where she had gained Chartered Management Accountant status.
With both management accounting and financial accounting experience she is responsible for producing the annual accounts for all group companies, along with useful management accounts information for decision making. She works alongside the Directors providing financial information on a day-to-day basis. From payroll to cash flow forecasts, budgets to filed accounts, investment rates to providing PA duties to the Directors, her role evolves in line with the business needs.
Zoë has a BA Hons degree in business management from UWIC and has been an associate member of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) since 2003.
Rod joined the family business in July 2006, and was involved with the project management of commercial and residential schemes including, Chandlers Mews in Burry Port, Woodward House in Leamington Spar, and the Travelodge in Merthyr Tydfil.
Rod currently manages Atlantic’s residential portfolio, having recently overseen the successful sale of 11 apartments in The Glas, Pontcanna, Rod is now preparing the sale of a further 13 apartments in Plas Gwynt Mews, Pontcanna.
Rod left the company for a short period and rejoined in August 2013. Rod has a BSc (Hons) in Property Management and Investment, and trained as a surveyor with King Sturge.
Peter has a solid business background and has over 30 years experience in the financial and property sectors. Formerly a high ranking civil servant, he has spent the last 15 years bringing his experience to the private sector.
Prior to his appointment as Managing Director of Atlantic Property Developments plc, Peter worked at Price Waterhouse advising substantial property companies and wealthy entrepreneurs. Having advised on several company flotations, including TBI plc, one of the largest operators of airports in Europe and Biotrace International plc, he was one of the lead advisors to the workforce at Tower Colliery, who in 1995 successfully acquired from HM Government the last remaining deep mine in Wales.
Since joining Atlantic, Peter has previously been responsible for driving forward the company's ambitious development programme here in the UK and throughout Europe. Peter has recently stepped down as Managing Director but continues to provide several key services as a consultant to Atlantic.
