  Keith James OBE
Board Member
Keith is the former Chairman of Eversheds LLP, one of the largest firms of lawyers in Europe - a post he held for nine years until his retirement in 2004. He was educated in Wales and is a law graduate (MA) of Queens College, Cambridge. A corporate and banking lawyer by training, his practicing career involved overseeing the the legal affairs of large private companies, listed companies, banks and finance companies. For 15 years he was involved in the development and management of Eversheds LLP, initially as Vice Chairman of the board and latterly as Chairman.

Keith is a director of a number of UK companies, including Admiral Group plc, International Greetings plc, HTV Group, The Carlyle Trust Ltd, Julian Hodge Bank Ltd and Hodge Life Assurance Company Ltd. He was formerly director of The Bank of Wales plc and AXA Insurance Company Ltd. He has also served on a number of public bodies including the General Advisory Council of the BBC, The Welsh Health Common Services Authority, the Court and Council of the University of Wales Cardiff, the UK Freedom from Hunger campaign and the Advisory Panel of the Cardiff Business School. He was, for five years, Chairman of The Welsh Centre of International Affairs and the Welsh Executive of the United Nations Association. Currently, he is Deputy Chairman of the Institute of Welsh Affairs, an independent think tank he helped establish 17 years ago. He served for a number of years as a member of the NSPCC Justice for Children Fundraising Board.

Keith was appointed an OBE for services to business and the community in Wales in 2005.
